Jennifer Jill Schwirzer is a mental health counselor located in the Philadelphia area with specialties in Christian, cognitive-behavioral and wholistic therapy. She has a Masters of Science in Mental Health degree from Capella University. Her internship was completed through Life Counseling Services in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
Spirituality is an essential part of Jennifer's approach. She graduated from Atlantic Union college in 1999 with a Batchelor's degree in religion. In addition to her internship, she has had over 15 yeas of lay counseling experience through Michael Ministries, a non-proft corporation which Jennifer founded in 1997 to serve as a basis for her concerts and seminars.
A prolific communicator, Jennifer began in the 1990s with songwriting and performance, releasing several professional CDs of her own composition. She went on to author six books through Pacific Press Publishing, Review and Herald Publishing, and Amazing Facts Publishers. Of note is Dying to be Beautiful, published in 2005, which explores eating disorders, their prevalence, causes and treatments. Not only is the book well-researched, but it resonates with authenticity, as Jennifer herself is a survivor of anorexia.
With her speciaty in eating disorders and her theological training, Jennifer brings much to the table in both counseling and psychoeducation. She is takes face-to-face and phone clients on a fee-for-service basis. Her fee is a low $40 an hour.
